Welcome to our brand new siteThe CNCM, Center for Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology gathers 8 research units devoted to the study of the development and function of the central and peripheral nervous system in physiological and pathological conditions. Studies are performed at the cellular and molecular levels. The Center was born in March 2000 under the initiative of the Administration Council of the Université de Liège through the merging of 6 laboratories belonging to the Faculté de Médecine working in the field of Neurosciences. Two additional research units belonging to the Faculté des Sciences were added later. All these laboratories are gathered since June 2005 in a same location on the University Campus in Sart Tilman, in the viciity of the University Hospital. All modern techniques allowing teh study of Neurobiology are present in the Center and used for studies of various research topics in Neurobiology. This web site provides an exhaustive description of the teams and their research programmes. Numerous collaborations within and outside the University of Liège are ongoing and concern Belgian as well as foreign Universities. The goals of the Center are to advance fundamental knowledge in the field of Neurosciences at the best possible level but also to develop an advanced teaching activity in this same field. The Center in also part of the Doctoral School in Neurosciences of the Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique. The Center is open to all scientists who wish to develop a research project in Neurosciences. THE CONTENT OF THIS WEB SITE IS CURRENTLY BEING UPDATED. PLEASE EXCUSE THE TEMPORARY LACK OF SOME OF THE INFORMATION. |
